A juicing staple, the apple comes in a bewildering array of varieties.
For the juicing aficionado the apple will play a key role in much of our juice output.
It's an abundant, widely available and versatile fruit that works well both in simple juices and as a sweetener in more complex juices.
Adding apple to some of the vegetable-heavy juices is an easy way to lighten the flavour, especially for the novice juicer.
Even though we're here to promote the benefits of juicing we'd be remiss if we didn't mention that it's also very important to eat the WHOLE fruit often and not just use it for juicing.
Why? - Many of the most powerful antioxidants in apples are to be found in the phytonutrients of the skin.
You could always peel the skin, eat that and juice the rest, right?
Also, don't discount the apple seeds. There's some evidence to suggest that eating the seeds of the apple (along with the seeds of other member of the Rose family to which the apple belongs) can be beneficial for health*.
